Future-Forward with Nordgreen Watches

I’m putting a spotlight on Nordgreen, a Danish watch company known for their aesthetically pleasing and functional collection of designer timepieces.

Not only do I personally love the clean, elegant, and practical design of their watches, I love what the company stands for.

Their name combines two words: Nord is characteristic of their Nordic identity, with its strong connection to nature. And green embodies their commitment to serving global challenges in health, education, and environment.

Color Trends from the Runways 2021

This season’s eye-catching colors are thanks in part to the digital formats influential fashion designers used to highlight their winter 2021 fashion trends

Time keeps us moving in one direction…forward. And Nordgreen is a very forward-looking company. The most obvious aspect of it is the Giving Back Program involving customers’ participation, which works this way:

  1. Purchase your watch. (Take an additional 15% off using my code CONFESSIONS.)

  2. Select from one of three causes on their site to support health (clean water in the Central African Republic via Water for Good), education (for children in India via Pratham UK), or the environment (preserving rain forests in Latin America via Cool Earth).

  3. Enter your information along with the serial number and identification number of the watch you purchased.

That’s it! Nordgreen then donates a portion of your purchase to the cause of your choice.

But they take into consideration everything about their operations and how every aspect can be made more sustainable. Here’s just a little bit more of what else Nordgreen does as it strives to live out a real, comprehensive, commitment to sustainability:

  • carbon neutral through tree planting, to offset their office emissions and all their global shipments

  • sustainable packaging through carboard sourced through responsibly managed forests and felt created through upcycled plastic

  • responsible manufacturing through upholding the high standards of Danish labor practices in their overseas production facilities

  • energy efficiency in lighting and appliances, and even windmill-sourced electricity

  • responsible sourcing through vegan leather straps made from blended polyester and cotton

Diving deep into the creative journey

That’s already a lot. There’s so much to admire about their integrity and commitment to their goals of service without even talking about how successful they’ve been at bringing Scandinavian aesthetics to the watch market.

Actually, they began only in 2017, but launched themselves with one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in Europe in the fashion industry: They reached 100% of their campaign goals in just two hours.

With their award-winning designer Jakob Wagner, who’s designed for brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Hay, B&B Italia, and Cappellini, they craft pieces that carry the Scandinavian sensibilities the globe has come to admire. Minimalism brings form and functionality together in aesthetically appealing ways that make these watches elegant, timeless, and beautiful for any occasion.

They also have many options of watch faces, dials, and interchangeable bands to choose from. Since their watches are highly customizable, this also makes them great gift ideas.

Bottom line, I just think it’s great that there’s just so much thought Nordgreen puts into the things we can see about the brand—its products—but also everything we can’t see as customers in the tangible product, like how it upholds its commitment to sustainability through logistics and production and so many other aspects of running a business.

It sounds simple to say this, but I’m happy to have one company around where I can buy a watch, wear a watch, and really feel good about it!

It just so happened that white/ivory is Adrianna Papell’s color of the month for June. They feature a different color every month, and as a brand ambassador, I pick an outfit in that color to feature.
